01. PROBLEM
How can people re–live their memories more vividly?
People remember moments with all their senses, so looking back on memories through a screen doesn’t feel as immersive.
02. RESEARCH
Diving into psychological research
Music-evoked autobiographical memory is the phenomenon where music brings back vivid memories.
Interviewing our target audience
I interviewed 7 students and adults, which validated our problem space.
People frequently revisit places to re-experience certain moments.
Many people said that music is an essential part of their memories.
Apps like BeReal and Lapse didn’t really stick for long.

03. IDEATION
Gathering inspiration through moodboards
We brainstormed UI/UX ideas by looking at examples of map and journal interfaces, music players, and warm color palettes.
Considering the user flow
We began by creating a text-based flow chart to nail down the logic before moving onto a full-on user flow, optimizing onboarding and laying out the main features of our app.
Developing a mid-fi prototype
I took the logic from the user flow of the “create memory” section and broke it down into intuitive screens.
04. SOLUTION
Remidy: an app that allows users to relive memories immersively through sounds associated with a time and location.
Preserving memories
Users can select a song or curate a playlist that goes with the time and location. To make the moment even more memorable, users can select an album cover for their memory and jot down quick thoughts.
Viewing memories
Users can listen to their playlist in the app, enhanced by their chosen album cover image and journal entry.
05. ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Simple onboarding
Users just have to create an account, choose their streaming platform, and allow location access.
Memories that follow you
The home page is a map that tags memories. When users are in a specific location with previous memories, they can pull up the “Nearby Memories” panel to look through them.
A stroke of serendipity
When the user enters a location that is geotagged with a previous memory, Remedy will automatically send a notification to them, prompting them to relive that moment.
Non-social media
This is a memory showcasing app, so users’ memories will be stored on their personal profile.
06. BRAND IDENTITY
Reminisce + melody + remedy = Remidy
Users reminisce over their positive memories through melodies, which heals their soul and makes them feel happier.
Logo
Location pin combined with a music note because our app connects physical locations to music.
Colors
Brown: nostalgia and evoking memories
Orange: the warm embrace from encountering positive memories
Fonts
Headers: Staatliches
Playful but balances readability and personality
Headers: DM Sans
Friendly yet legible at smaller font sizes
07. REFLECTION
